Are you wondering how to get to Asgard in God of War Ragnarok? Well, after Santa Monica Studio confirmed you can visit all nine Realms in the game, we were asking the same question as we played. But, to save you spending time wondering what you need to do you can find the answer below.
Do keep in mind, though, there are major spoilers below. Seeing Asgard for the first time is something you really want to experience blind and the rest of this article will spoil moments of the story, as well as key plot points for one of the central characters in the game. You have been warned. But, if you don’t mind or just want to know anyway, read below.
God of War Ragnarok how to get to Asgard
To get to Asgard, you will need to get to the main quest ‘The Runaway’ about 50% of the way through the main story. This quest takes place after you have visited Vanaheim and returned to Sindri’s House.
Spoilers from here on out!
During this quest, Atreus will get angry with his dad and runaway from Sindri’s house and end up in Midgard. He will eventually end up back at home and agree with Huginn and Muninn (Odin’s ravens) to get transported to Asgard. At which point, he ends up in Asgard and you can begin the story quest.
Asgard is only accessible during main story quests. There is no way to visit the realm during the open-world sections of the game or after you finish the game. As such, there are no collectibles, items, or extra things to grab beyond simple chests and materials occasionally.
