When it comes to the monthly freebies on PS Plus, this is arguably one of the strongest lineups of 2024 so far. Giving away a brand-new game is always a bonus, but to also include a big hitter (literally) in MLB The Show 24 and the highly-regarded Little Nightmares 2 is impressive
This excellent trio will be available to claim and keep from Tuesday, September 3 through to Monday, September 30, so don’t forget to add them to your PlayStation library, even if you don’t have the intention of playing them right away.

Quidditch Champions
Following on from the massive success of Hogwarts Legacy, another new Harry Potter game has now arrived. Quidditch Champions, however, is a dedicated sports game that focuses in on the Wizarding World’s most popular pastime.
In Quidditch Champions, you create your own character and play through a dedicated, career mode-style campaign that sees you go from playing in the Weasley’s backyard to the Quidditch World Cup. You can do this solo, or invite friends to join you on your journey. Alternatively, there are PvP multiplayer matches for those that like to get really competitive.
You’ll play in several stunning looking arenas based in recognizable and lesser-explored locations from the Harry Potter universe. You’ll also interact with plenty of recognizable characters too.
MLB The Show 24
Continuing the sports theme, the latest entry in the MLB The Show series is now available to claim on PS Plus. If you’re a die-hard baseball fan you probably own the game already, but if for some reason you don’t, now is the perfect chance.
In fairness, there’s enjoyment to be had in MLB The Show 24 even if you’re not a baseball nut. There are some really inspiring historical stories being told through its Negro Leagues campaigns, you can craft your own custom stadiums, and the satisfaction of striking a home run is infectious regardless of who you are.
Little Nightmares 2
Little Nightmares 2 is a platform adventure game with a gorgeous art style and excellent puzzling – but as the name suggests, it’s a more sinister experience than many of its fellow platformers.
While not a gruesome or jump scare-filled horror game, Little Nightmares 2 is definitely dark and unsettling. With themes of betrayal, bullying, identity, and an overarching goal to stop a corrupting evil, it’s certainly a thought-provoking and haunting story.
This is a very tight and compact experience, with most playthroughs taking between five and seven hours – although hunting down all its collectibles and completing all its trophies will extend that by a few hours more. While it may be short, it’s definitely worth playing – as is its predecessor.
