God of War Ragnarok will be released on PC on Thursday, September 19, 2024. The date was confirmed by Sony in a PlayStation Blog post at the end of May 2024. The port will also include all of the post-launch updates PlayStation players have received so far, including the Valhalla DLC.
Ragnarok’s arrival on PC has been highly anticipated since long before its announcement. The first game in the renewed series launched onto PC in January 2022, setting the expectation that its sequel would also eventually make its way onto the platform.
Fortunately, the confirmation of Ragnarok’s PC release date means you won’t be waiting as long as PC players did for the 2018 GoW to get ported – the original took four years to get its PC moment. This is unsurprising, though, considering Sony’s recent drive to push more of its PS5 exclusives onto the platform.
God of War Ragnarok PC features
God of War Ragnarok’s PC version will ship with some lovely performance improvements and graphical options that its console cousin lacks. These include “true 4K resolution,” unlocked framerates, full integration with NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel’s upscaling tech, and super ultra-widescreen support for 21:9 and 32:9 aspect ratios.
Of course, you still need the required PC power and peripherals to take advantage of everything. But if your rig is juiced to the gods then you’re good to go.
